« Britain is NOT the promised land, the UN tells immigrants in Calais » By Ian Sparks
The United Nations is opening an office in Calais to tell migrants Britain is not the 'promised land'.
Hundreds of migrants massed in the northern French port will be told there will be no soft landings if they succeed in sneaking into Britain.
UN staff will attempt to persuade migrants not to try to smuggle themselves across the Channel to our shores, and offer advice on how to claim aslyum in France.
