All around Paris this is what you see.. bikes, bikes everywhere! Its
the new hype - Paris city is counting on people to take the bikes now
instead of the ever so popular metro or bus. Which in itself is
good and better for the enviroment. Especially when its not raining,
that is to say only the last 3 days of our WHOLE summer. But lets hope
we'll get a fairly dry winter.
Although bicycles and bikers have become a common sight in the city, parisians have still to learn some basic cycle-manners. Like not parking cars on cycle lanes, leaving some space on the right for bicycles to pass and stop screaming at girls in skirts who like to take their bikes, (or the new velibs) instead of being accosted daily in the metro. The city has made some arrangements with bike lanes in some areas but there's still some room for improvement. Especially in comparision to the queen of cycle cities, COPENHAGEN. (which is even better than Amsterdam - see pictures on flickr ).
Want to try out
the velib and feel the wind in your hair? Don't forget to subscribe ( 1
euro for the day or 30 euros for the year) but that's only the
subscription. After you have subscribed , chose a bike. The
first half hour is free. After that the second half hour is 1 euro, the
third is 2 euros and after that 4 euros every half hour. Don't
understand the system, don't worry, you're not alone - it is french
after all and it takes some time to get used to. But then its great.
That is if you find a spot to hand in your bike at your destination.
The biggest problem users are experiencing is that there are no free
spaces to park the bikes within the half hour.. so then you have to go
half of the way back to find a free space to avoid paying 57 euros for
a 8 hour workday! Isn't it then better to actually "steal" a bike for the 150
euro credit you promissed in case of a "non-return"?
With velib, after the first 30 minutes.. who knows what's going to happen?
I just know that I'm glad I have my own bike...
But RATP, you still get one "Klapp" for trying

Who said Cat's were independent creatures that do not try to please their owners? They can even imitate us - that is, if they fancy doing it
That could be worrying for me I since my cat is completely deaf and sleeps around 23 hours a day... But then again I think it might take it after other family members.

"Jibby - Sara 's got her number back" could Marilyn be thinking..
if she would still be alive that is - because then she and I would be
"like this" - after I would have written her memories - with her
consent of course.
Excuuuuse me but I think I have the right to be obnoxious and delusional, I'm back in touch with the world. Except that I have lost a few numbers.
Well, these people probably didn't matter anyway... and if they did - they will call me at some point.
Ahh, it feels good - and just before the weekend as well.
"This time you're staying in the bag, little phone!"

Its not as easy to find good stories for every blog as I thought -
but I found one that cought my glaze... it goes to show how incredibly
stupid people are... and that some will steal just anything!
A Chinese woman has told how robbers snatched a parcel of dog poo wrapped in newspaper out of her hand outside a bank.
Mrs Chen, of Laohekou city, was waiting in the bank to withdraw money when nature suddenly called for her dog.
After wrapping the poo, Chen left the bank, and was waiting to cross the street to throw the parcel into a rubbish bin when the robber struck.
"A motorcycle stopped swiftly before me, the man on the rear seat seized the package from me, and they sped away," she said.
Police are investigating the case while "laughing at the stupidity of the robbers", according to Chutian City Papers.

I used to hate those. Well, not the babies obviously but I could not understand people that collected baby pictures. Even before they were in any condition to have any themselves.. you know the pictures of those ever so cute baby heads in sunflowers - common!
And then
I stand myself grinning at buttons for baby sweaters in a huge
departement store, wondering whether it would make a nice, fun
evening hobby to knit baby sweaters this winter! Hello?
Well, baby buttons are cute though.. always had somekind of "thing" for them - maybe its because they are animals in most cases and in all those wonderful colours. (and who is being laim now, maybe baby picture are not so creepy after all - compared to my obsession with buttons - but we all have some deep dark secret, hidden inside) - I just barely managed to walk out of that store without spending all the money I dont have on something that will take so much space and be completely useless for years.
Thank god for that - have to be careful, since the "company" is watching - they've had enough with all these young people (oh yes, women and men) going on parenty leave. "Stop having babies people- you're too hard to replace!" I almost got in trouble the other day when I said something like - gosh - I eat like a pregnant woman - I eat so much. That did not go down well. Purely a joke of course, although may it be a bad one. And people who work with me on daily basis know that I eat a lot. But since then I feel my every move is monitered... Ok, that maybe sounds a bit paranoid.. all for a couple of buttons.
Maybe having 2-3 pictures of creepy babies on my wall when I was 12 would not have been such a bad idea. Then I wouldn't be so freaked out by a few wonderfully cute buttons.
