that's what happens when you have too much of sugar for one night.
However, the sugarcubes concert last friday came just in the right
amount. Fabulous to see that the group was so upbeat after being apart
for 14 years and despite having one very known lead singer. Pure
Joy...and great to finally see and hear all these wonderful classics
that have sounded in my head since the adolescence.
Luftgítar...Ég dansa ekki ...ohh ohh...
jájá...not bad to see the
island people as well..my everso beautiful mum and friends that no
matter what, are always up for a good night out. Takk takk
wish I had the willingness to write about international matters, to share my little
wisdom of whats happening in the world after a well-packed day of work
with top stories mainly on the middle-east but honestly, I don't think
I have more to bring to you than the average Joe-person working at
Reuters.com so feel free to visit their website.. BUT ONLY UNTIL THE
FRANCE24.COM WEBSITE IS LAUNCHED of course ;) .... In two weeks from
now you'll get the real thing wherever you are - and let me tell you,
its going to be something!
I
just wished we could have done the Panda story - Apparently Pandas get
excited after watching other Pandas mate on video - THAT'S television
for you...

Finally french consumers are waking up to the harsh reality of
environmental issues. Apparently we are consuming too much and waste is
starting to be a universal problem. A new tax has been added to all
electrical devices - from phones to Tvs, computers and fridges. This so
consumers realise the high cost for the environment every time they
change cellular phones or get a new microwave.
So from today on, if you need to get rid of any electrical device you
have several ways of doing just that and there will be no more
electrical "leftovers" on the side of french roads.
Firstly if you are getting, lets say, a new fridge the company delivering it is
obligated to take your old back. They will then make sure the old
fridge gets to its manufacturer, which will eventually destroy it in the proper manner.
For smaller things like computers and cellular phones you simply take them
back to the store or you can get in touch with the local authorities to
know which days electrical waste is recycled. No more putting tv sets
with the odd pizza left overs in the trash. Its so easy, and its free.
Another way would be to subscribe to an environmental aware
group and get ALOT of stuff for free - they exist everywhere and you
simply subscribe to the group in your town: if you have a yahoo mail Freecycle
is your new best friend. Only catch - its free but it doesnt arrive on
your doorstep. Common...one step for you is a giant step for humanity..
So get those recycling boots on...its the least we can do.
