Boy George est le mythique chanteur du groupe Culture Club qui fait son apparition sur la scène musicale en 1981.
Avec des tenues vestimentaires excentriques et une voix proche de celle des chanteurs soul, Boy George accompagné de son groupe, accapare sans peine au début des années 80, l'attention du public anglais et américain. Au cours de sa carrière internationale avec Culture Club, il vend plus de 30 millions de disques. Mais au sommet de sa gloire et après trois albums en commun, il décide de dissoudre son groupe et de poursuivre une carrière en solo.
Il publie en 87 son premier album solo Sold, qui contient le hit Everything I Sold, et en 88, Tense Nervous Breakdown. Mais sa carrière solo ne décolle pas vraiment aux Etats-Unis et Boy George choisit de se retirer chez lui en 92. Cependant, il obtient l'année suivante un hit chez les américains avec la chanson The Crying Game, et sort un dernier album solo en 95, Cheapness And Beauty. Mais c'est en tant que DJ que Boy George connaît un second souffle à la fin des années 90. Il mixe alors et depuis dans de nombreux clubs aux USA et en Angleterre. Boy George collabora notamment avec Faithless, Groove Armada, Anthony and the Johnson.
Entre 1998 et 2002, il rejoindra Culture Club pour trois singles, un album et quelques tournées mondiales.

Boy George en tournée US pour la première fois depuis longtemps | 06 juin 2008
La tournée qui donne le coup d'envoi Juillet 10 en Aspen se déroulera jusqu'au 23 août, où il se retrouve à Dallas, TX.
L' ancien leader de Culture Club devenu artiste solo fait les gros titres aux États-Unis en 2006, date à laquelle il a été condamné à ordures droit après un juge l'a accusé de perdre du temps la police pour signaler un faux cambriolage dans son appartement à New York.
Le chanteur a été autorisé à effectuer des ordures droit dans les motifs de la ville du Département d'assainissement étant donné le niveau de l'intérêt des médias au sein de sa communauté.

The tour which kicks off July 10 in Aspen will run through to August 23, where it will wind up in Dallas, TX.
The former Culture Club frontman-turned-solo artist made headlines in the US in 2006 when he was sentenced to garbage duty after a judge charged him with wasting police time for falsely reporting a burglary in his New York apartment.
The singer was permitted to carry out garbage duty in the grounds of the city's Sanitation Department due to the level of media interest in his community service.
