MONTREAL - Le concert que la vedette britannique Boy George devait donner à Montréal le 12 août prochain, au Métropolis, est annulé.

Le promoteur de l'événement, Groupe Spectacles Gillett, ne donne pas d'explication mais affirme qu'il y a des discussions en cours pour reporter la date du spectacle.

Les détenteurs de billets peuvent obtenir un remboursement aux points d'achat originaux.

Boy George, de son vrai nom George Alan O'Dowd, a connu une énorme popularité au début des années 80 avec sa formation, Culture Club. Cependant, il a subi quelques déboires personnels par la suite.

Le mois dernier, les Etats-Unis lui ont refusé un visa d'entrée car il a été inculpé à Londres, en novembre dernier, à la suite d'une plainte portée par un homme de 28 ans quelques mois plus tôt.

Boy George est tellement inspiré par l'espoir présidentielles aux Etats-Unis Barack Obama, il a écrit une nouvelle chanson à son sujet.
L'ancien leader Culture Club a dû annuler une tournée américaine cet été (08), après l'ambassade américaine à Londres lui refuser un visa, en raison de voies de fait les frais en suspens au Royaume-Uni
Mais, insiste-t-il, il est accordé à la démocrate du message d'espoir - et sera pour lui l'enracinement lors de l'élection revient en Novembre (08).
George dit: «Je viens tout juste écrit une nouvelle chanson intitulée Oui, nous pouvons, qui a été inspiré par Obama."

Singer BOY GEORGE is so inspired by U.S. presidential hopeful BARACK OBAMA, he has written a new song about him.
The former Culture Club frontman had to cancel an American tour this summer (08), after the U.S. embassy in London denied him a visa, because of outstanding assault charges in the U.K.
But he insists he is tuned in to the democrat's message of hope - and will be rooting for him when the election comes around in November (08).
George says, "I've just written a new song called Yes, We Can that was inspired by Obama."
