Boy George late of the 1980s group “Culture Club” has a new dance tune out in the U.S. “Yes We Can” samples several of Barack Obama’s speeches and uses them as the raw material around a quite danceable cut.

With techy, melodic, late-night gem brings you all of the emotion and groove that you have come to expect from Robert G. Roy's remix. Based on a driving baseline and thumping drums, that rolls through the dance floor; deep and haunting pads raise the emotional intensity and finally crescendo in the breakdown, sending shivers down your spine before slamming back in with the techy groove.

"Taboo", le musical de Boy George : un projet d'adaptation en France | 06 mars 2009

La comédie musicale écrite et composée par Boy George (ex-leader du groupe Culture Club) est en bonne voie pour débarquer en France à l'horizon 2011. Deux jeunes comédiens, Christophe Gheeraert et Didier Pezant, sont à l'origine du projet d'adapter le spectacle dans la langue de Molière.
Ils ont déjà obtenu l'aval de Christophe Renshaw, metteur en scène de la version originale de Taboo à Londres, qui se dit prêt à céder les droits de la pièce en vue de sa création à Paris, et qu'il souhaiterait également mettre en scène.

"Taboo" est le nom du club lancé dans les années 80 par Leigh Bowery, figure emblématique de l'art contemporain en Angleterre et ami de Boy George. La pièce s'attache à raconter l'ascencion de ce dernier au tout début de sa carrière, entouré d'une galerie de personnage tous plus extravagants les uns que les autres.

Le musical Taboo traîte de nombreux sujets propres à la décénie qui a vu émerger la New-Wave et le mouvement des Nouveaux Romantiques qu'elle met en avant.
L'ambition de devenir une star, les méfaits de la drogue, l'émergence du SIDA... sont autant de thèmes profonds, et encore éminemment actuels, que le spectacle s'attache à explorer.

Le projet de redonner vie au spectacle intervient alors que les auteurs entendent le monter à nouveau à Londres et Broadway, ainsi que d'en créer une version en Néerlandais à Amsterdam, chaque fois dans de petites salles qui sauraient retranscrire l'ambiance music-hall caractéristique de la pièce.

Le duo composé par Christophe Gheeraert et Didier Pezant est actuellement à la recherche d'un production prête à s'engager dans l'aventure pour leur donner les moyens d'aller au bout du projet.
