Boy George inculpé pour possession de cocaïne

NEW YORK (AP) -- Un avocat de Boy George a affirmé samedi que la cocaïne découverte dans l'appartement de son client ne lui appartenait pas. Le chanteur, dont le véritable nom est George O'Dowd, a été inculpé pour possession de drogues, selon la police.
Le chanteur, célèbre pour sa personnalité androgyne, a appelé la police de son appartement vers 3h14 dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi, en affirmant qu'il était cambriolé, selon le porte-parole de la police, Kevin Czartoryski. A leur arrivée sur les lieux, les enquêteurs ont découvert une petite quantité de cocaïne près d'un ordinateur.
L'ancien chanteur du groupe "Culture Club", auquel on doit des tubes comme "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me", a été libéré samedi après avoir été inculpé pour possession d'une substance illégale, a précisé Barbara Thompson, une porte-parole de bureau du procureur. Il devrait comparaître devant un juge le 19 décembre.
"C'était une petite quantité de drogues", a souligné son avocat, Lou Freeman, dans le "New York Post". "Il ignore d'où elle provient. Il a reçu un grand nombre de personnes chez lui" et "un homme qui a quelque chose à cacher n'appelle pas la police".
Boy George avait été condamné en 1986 pour possession d'héroïne en Angleterre. Il avait été contraint de suivre une cure de désintoxication. Cette condamnation avait abouti à la séparation de son groupe un an plus tard.

Esperons que cette affaire est terminée..... et n'aurra pas de conséquences dans la suite de la carrière de George....

D'après une source presse de NEW YORK : "Le chanteur Boy George a été arrêté vendredi pour possession de stupéfiants et faux témoignage après avoir appelé les services d'urgence pour affirmer que son appartement était cambriolé, a-t-on appris de source policière.

Manifestement, après m'être renseigné sur le net, George aurait été relaché après avoir payé une caution....
Son avocat explique que l'on n'appelle pas la police si on a quelque chose à se reprocher et surtout en laissant trainer de la drogue...
