Shut the television down | 28 novembre 2005

SHUT THE TELEVION DOWN (music & lyrics Andrea Fiorucci)

Shut the television down
Come over and look at me
Just in front of you is a man
That loves u more than u ever will

Don't u keep on waitin' for regognition
The “ u are great-s”
Just in front of u is a man
That loves u more than u ever will

U don't know what it means
2 be alone
2 be in love

Shut the television down, shut the television down
Come on over,
sing me a song
fall in love,
hug me tight(3x)
kiss me alright tonight

Information:

All songs written, performed and produced by Dumbo was a pinacolada except “Some might say” based on an idea by my favorite guitarputo Dos Santos José.
Dumbo was a pinacolada is Andrea Fiorucci.
Dumbo was a pinacolada would like to thank his family ( Mamma, pappa,  nonne e nonni, zii e zie, cugini e cugine & Paolo) his friends ( especially Raftside for his help in pictures and design stuff and Max Loehr for the pics of myspace) & in a paticular way his band Medleyjukebox ( Sean, Hugo, José) for inspiration, critics & sustain.
Sleevedesign: Leonie (which I thank in a particular way)

I've been thinkin' a lot about my second album, I started writtin' the new songs lately. The first album will be released only 100 or 50 times and I promised myself not to sell it but to give it for free to all the putos, chicas and bananas who are sincerely interested into it. For the next one I will try to find some money but I think I'll only make a few copies and put the whole album on the net. It costs money but I have found a site where to do that! I've already a title as you may read below. I'll try to invite some musicians to do stuff on it. I also think I ‘ll put a blues song on it. I am writing one, the lyrics are inspired by Primus. I ‘ll try two different style of songs this time. Some songs will be composed in a traditionnal way, I'll try to inspire myself from Dashboard Confessional, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Jon Gomm but also Smashing Pumpkins and a lot of emo kid music. The other songs will have some strange instumental part that I will write during the recording, I'll try to inspire me for these parts from bands like The fall of troy, Meet you in Saint Louis, Honey ride me on a goat, The Akira state, Honey for Petzi, Faraquet ( which I only know for a few weeks now! Great band!!!) Youthmovie soundtrack, Hella, Primus and some others postmodern rock bands. Remember! Only the ape doesn't know which direction he goes, artists do! I think I have also a tracklist ( which probably will change...)

My top 1OO (2005) | 25 octobre 2005

<br />

Some rules and points:

1. An artist may just appear one time!
2. Don't write me a comment telling me that I have forgotten some big new stuff like the latest album by Franz Ferdinand, 50 cent or Céline Dion... I may simply not like these bands or artists, even if you think that they are good...
3. I have put also some “best of” because sometimes I do rather listen to “best of's” than to albums...
4. I know there are some legends missing, this doesn't mean that I don't like them, It means that for now I haven't had the time (money, lust) to buy these cds. Sorry! Next year I'll put some more and so and so....

D.W.P's TOP 100 ( 2005)

1. Primus – Antipop
( because it's number one! Unbelievable bass, melodic integration of the guitar, Tom Morello helped out on three tracks but also some other legends like Tom Waits, the Metallica singer, Fred Durst -when he was only a producer- Antipop sounds like musicians who are having too much fun with their own musical talent. “ I suck information through the holes in my skull As my belly gurgles hungry my mouth is always full.” Coolest lyrics ever with Tom York's. For those who aren't in on the gag, Primus fans always say that Primus sucks. So I proclaim enthusiastically that Antipop sucks like nothing Primus has produced since Sailing the Seas of Cheese or Brown.)

2. Radiohead – Computer ok
( I don't need to explain! Werchter!!! Best show of my life! This band is the most respected ever! A living legend!)

3. The Fall of troy – Doppelgänger
( The new fucking postguitar style rocks too much! Notice: The band's name comes from a Tom Waits song and the album's name comes from a label that produced David Bowie! This guys have the real roots and they do great postcore like you have never heard before!)

 ( Because space-rock rules!)

5. Led Zepplin – Led Zepplin III

Tha Faqs!!!! | 24 octobre 2005

01) Who is Dumbo was a pinacolada?

A "mutant guitar virtuoso" or an idiot. The answer to this question is beetween these two edges! There has been much speculation about the answer in the international press. We do know that he is both of them! Due to the unusual circumstances surrounding his upbringing, he is a very private person. He doesn't grant many interviews, and shuns most conventional means of contact. He would prefer that his fans (which means: his family) accept his eccentricities, focus on his art and enjoy the sadland of joy that is his work.
He draws inspiration from movies, musicians, artists, writers, athletes and has bizarre fixations on pinguins.

02) What albums has Dumbo was a pinacolada played on or released?

As: Duender

2001- 2002 Agressive days

As: The Berlin Calvados

2003-2004 Le désir d'un théâtre des oreilles

With Myein

2004 Silly
2003 Eye see
As: Dumbo was a pinacolada

2004 Demo n°4
2005 Chuck Mock the moon spermatozoon with the huge cock

With Medleyjukebox

2005 Tinky Winky was a pornostar

03) What does Dumbo was a pinacolada sound like?

His stylings range from raw-power riffing and acoustic-tappinglicks to idyllic, yet edgy chordal passages and heartrending melodic lines. His music is very difficult to categorize because each release tends to have its own flavor and context. His biggest desire is not to limit the music to the cliches of either genre.
Compositionally speaking, many of his tunes are initially conceived right from the pain that love deceptions bring him. Brutal, grinding rhythms suddenly give way to serene floating passages...lalalilulala.This is the way love goes!

04) What are DWP's influences?

People have already heard him citin' bananas, chocolate, italian espresso, Michael Jackson, ice-cream, Las Claypool, pizza, Jimmy Hendrix as major inspirations as well as the experience of playing with Medleyjukebox and other artists...
He also finds inspiration in books, movies and athletes, most notably André Agassi. But the real source of all inspiration are women's breast!

05) What videos have been released?

The video for "Silly" directed by RAFTSIDE, has been released in 2004.

06) Does he have any hobbies?

He likes reading and talking while drinking cognac or vodka!

07) Where is this puto from?

Some say outer space, others say southern Sicily. He currently resides in Paris but the truth is that he is from Luxembourg.

08)Has this chico won any awards?

No!

09) Did he audition for Jane's addiction or the Guns & Roses?

No. This is just a street legend!

10) Are there any bootlegs available?

Yes, there are some lost minidisks available for trading among friends, which is better you never listen to!

11) Does this dude use any nonstandard guitar tunings?

Dumbo was a pinacolada primarily relies on the standard tuning.

12) What songs does the elephantman cover?

He doesn't know jet he will ever succeed covering a single song till the end.

13) Is there any guitar/bass tablature available?

No the songs are far to difficult!!

14) What musical equipment does the alcoholic elephant use?

Guitars: Jackson Flying V, Gibson Les Paul Double humbuckers,a Yamaha electro acoustic guitar, a Gibson SG when his dude “Jos” forgets this guitar in his car. Amplifiers: Marshall...
Effects: a Zoom multi effects unit, A wah wah, ,some Electro Harmonix like the Big Muff,a Digitech Whammy Pedal, some Ibanez effects, delay/echo & autowah, digitech flangeretc...
