L’ Ange

Dans les cieux aux heures de minuit, un ange planait
Et il chantait un chant doux.
Et la lune, et les étoiles, et les nuages en foule
écoutaient la chanson divine.

Il chantait les extases des esprits immortels
À l’ombre des jardins du paradis...
Il chantait le Grand Dieu ; et sa louange
N’était pas feinte.

Dans son étreinte il portait une âme jeune
Au monde de tristesse et de pleurs,
Et l’empreinte de son chant est restée sans paroles
Dans l’âme jeune ! mais vivante.

Longtemps dans ce monde elle languit.
En proie au désir merveilleux
Et les chansons ennuyeuses de la terre
Ne purent remplacer les sons célestes.

Topic : « Mournful demon is Spirit of Banishment ». (love story)

« To love truly and especially to worship we can only the fruits of your own fantasy »...Somebody’s wisdom. This is mail-art project devoted to 200 year anniversary of great Russian poet of the 19th century M. LERMONTOV. The image of Demon is one of the most important in Lermonov’s art. His Demon is an angel banished from the sky but not accepted by the earth. Obsessed impassioned rejected by everybody rushing over the sinful earth between the good an the evil. Demon is doomed to create the Lermontov himself who was killed in a duel in 1841 at the age of 27. Lermontov’s demon is the solitude and the estrangement, the anxiety and the depravity and the same time the intellect and the craft. The image of Demon is infinitely contradictory and many-sided. Many poets, painters and composers addressed to the topic of demonism in their art.The basis of this mail-art project is a peculiar historical art parallel of Lermontov’s Demon with the creative process of Fussian talented painter Michail Vrubel which he had the begining of 20th century working over his masterpieces devoted to the image of Demon/
